Claire and Shawn

by Jessica on July 21st, 2014 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

Shawn and Claire are veterinarians at The Marine Mammal Center, and actually live in the Marin Headlands which made hosting their wedding at Cavallo Point feel particularly meaningful to them.   Because Cavallo has hosted other events for the Marine Mammal Center, they knew the property well and loved the idea of hosting their intimate event in such a breathtaking backdrop.  The wedding ceremony took place on the Mariposa patio and included their families and their pup, Clyde.  Kathy Terlicher create the beautiful flower, Sarah Peet captured the day, and the Amethyst Trio set the tone.  The day finished with a party at the yacht club, just a hop, skip and a jump away from the lodge, and it looked like so much fun, I just had to include a couple of pictures!

Kirsten & Grayson

by Jessica on July 14th, 2014 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

Kirsten and Grayson’s wedding is a testament to making the day special and beautiful on a budget.  The couple was able to prioritize the parts of the day that were important to them (amazing venue and food. CHECK.  super fun dance band. CHECK.) and find ways to save on things that fell lower on their priority list.  Kirsten actually arranged her own flowers along with her bridal party, making it a fun activity and huge budget saver.  The result came out just as she had hoped.  The bright green and orange colors brought a lot of fun to the day, and celebrating in Sausalito, where the couple resides, felt extra special.  New Revolution Photography out of Modesto took the pictures, and Anything She Wants provided the atmosphere.

Sarah & Nick

Nick and Sarah met on a sailboat in the San Francisco Bay, each attending a party for Sarah’s brother.  Sarah, at the time lived in Chicago, and the couple dated long distance for another year before Sarah moved to San Francisco.  Their wedding, overlooking the bay where they met, offered tribute to their city through the San Francisco skyline on the menu cards by Hello Lucky, and beautiful local and seasonal flowers by Lila B.  The crisp orange and navy stationary and classic lines of Sarah’s Amy Kuschel dress speak to the modern simplicity of the day.  Café lights over the dance floor and the always fun music of Tainted Love really made it a party. Coordination by Maggie of I Do Venues, and photography by Kim and Niki, Photographers.

Christine & Tucker- Happy 4th!!

by Jessica on June 30th, 2014 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

What better then a gorgeous military wedding to celebrate the start of July 4th week?  Christine and Tucker reunited after long tours apart to celebrate a very happy wedding day at Cavallo Point.  The military nostalgia of  Cavallo offered the perfect backdrop for their special day.  Because the couple was overseas during the planning stages, Christine’s sister and mom took over planning the day for them.  Christine’s sister even made hundreds of origami cranes which were strung as a backdrop in the historic Mission Blue chapel where they hosted their lunch event.  Congratulations, and happiest of anniversaries to these lovebirds and many thanks to Haley Anne Photography for providing these gorgeous photos!

Alice Secret Show Wedding at Cavallo Point!

by Jessica on June 28th, 2014 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

What an exciting day at Cavallo Point! The Alice Secret Show was filmed at the lodge today, which would have been an honor on its own, but as sweet sweet icing to the cake they ended the show with the marriage celebration of a beautiful couple! Gavin Newsom presided over the celebration, delicious sliders prepared by the Cavallo Point Cooking school team were devoured by all, and it was just generally a day for the record books! Thanks so much for the other sponsors of the events including Farm Girl Flowers who made the Tidewater Room simply lovely.

Amy & Michael

Oh, that blush dress! What a stunner.  And what a perfectly sweet love story these two share, as captured in Vero Suh’s beautiful photography.  As a family coming together, not only with their own hearts, but with those of their children, Amy and Michael centered their wedding around this new family, and having their loved ones play integral roles in their ceremony including but not limited to Michael’s daughter leading the processional, and Amy’s son walking her down the aisle and performing a song for her, accompanied by his guitar mentor, Ray Wilcox.  Ray later performed with his band Shade at the reception, including playing two songs alongside Amy’s mom in her self written musical toast.

In addition to including their families throughout the celebration, Amy and Michael honored their values by donating to Cavallo Point’s philanthropy of choice, Goodnight Foundation, in addition to supporting small woman owned businesses for their vendors.  Honoring their commitment to their families and their personal values, made this day a truly special one.  Of course, in addition to all the meaningful details, the day was filled with beauty starting with the flowers by Erica Rose Designs.  Heartfelt congratulations to this happy new family and many thanks to Vero Suh for providing the gorgeous images!

Stefanie and Tony’s Wedding featured on Style Me Pretty!

by Jessica on June 9th, 2014 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

Stephanie and Tony’s wedding was so shockingly stylish that I actually gasped when I walked into the room.  When Stefanie told me that her fiance Tony would be styling the room with assistance from their family, I truly never expected anything so spectacular.  The decor was stylish, modern and fun- just like Stefanie and Tony!  Most couples go more traditional with this room, since the space is so warm and cozy, so it was extra fun to see the space done in a completely different fashion complete with succulents, bright yellow billy balls and moss ball chair adornments.  See the entire wedding, with photos by Simply Jessie Photography here:

Paul and Alba- Timeless Romance

by Jessica on June 2nd, 2014 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

Let’s talk romance. Actually, let’s let these photos talk romance, because wowee. Alba and Paul might be the cutest couple ever. Just sweet, completely lovely, and really, really, really perfect together. And their wedding is equally perfect. The nostalgic romantic quality of Kate Harrison’s photos is enough to make a gal swoon, and the incredibly dreamy floral arrangements by Chestnut and Vine really offer another level of sweetness.  Planning by …and something blue.

Adam & Jessica

Today’s post is a little different than our usual stunners, as it is actually my very own wedding. Crazy, right? The wedding itself was hosted in our home, so I will save those pictures for the scrapbook. That said, we made the rather brilliant decision (if I do say so myself), to spend the weekend at Cavallo Point. We were really able to unwind in the beauty of the lodge and take in some peace and quiet there. Even more amazing, we got to take all of our pictures with Cavallo as the stunning backdrop.

I will get onto the pictures shortly, but I would say, that our love story started 6 years ago, with Adam’s choice to follow me from Los Angeles to Sausalito, when I got offered a job planning weddings and events at Cavallo Point. It was the craziest decision I have ever made, given we had been dating only three months, but turned into the smartest thing I have ever done. Cavallo Point is an incredible place, filled with amazing memories for so many people. I hope that by sharing my own wedding photos I can give you a glimpse into not only my favorite photography spots on the property, but also my deep love for this magical place!

Incredible florals by Kate’s Blossoms, Dreamy photography by Sabine Scherer, and design by And Something Blue.
